Summer Art Camp: The Amazing Art of the Book — SOLD OUT!

July 2 – July 6, 2018 (Closed July 4)

Ages: K – 5th Grade (5 – 11 years old)

Creative writing, illustration, bookbinding — the creation of an original book is a true art form! During this imaginative week, our creative instructors will push campers' imaginations, artistry, and storytelling skills as they go through the entire process of creating a storybook from cover to cover! They'll begin by writing their own unique story with prompts and inspiration by our staff. They will then draw and paint custom beautiful illustrations in art classes where we will mentor each student in their own project. Finally they'll explore book arts, learning paper art & bookbinding techniques to bind their finished books, and create finishing touches like pop-up pages. Upon completion of camp, each student will have their own beautiful, completed book to take home.

At the end of the camp, parents will be invited to see all student work on display before students take their completed work home.

Camp Details

Camp will include:

Multiple creative classes, writing, drawing/painting, or book arts workshops each day with art & storytelling teachers
Daily games and fun activities for campers with art teachers and camp counselors
Daily outdoor time in the park / swim time in the pool
The full process of writing, illustrating, and binding an original book is covered, including writing workshops, drawing classes, and book arts techniques
A completed unique book at the end of the week for each camper to take home.
All materials and art supplies are provided
At the end of the week, students take home everything they create (including original illustrations, brainstorms, etc)
